WHAT
WE DO
Filling the void - one bit at a time.
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.
The intersection of technology and personal safety has become a pressing concern in an increasingly connected world.
During our conversations with victim advocate groups and victims, we identified a significant gap in the efforts of helping victims of violence.
This missing component is the capture and analysis of digital evidence. This is mainly driven by cost-prohibitive realities that either the victim advocate groups or victims face.
Bits4Help is changing this!
We made it our mission to fill this void by providing digital forensic analysis of electronic devices free of charge to victims of violence.

This service is available to victims through a partnership with victim advocate groups, law firms, and law enforcement agencies.

Partnering entities can further help victims of violence navigate the complexities of the digital world by recognizing the significance of digital evidence, staying informed about surveillance technology trends, promoting data preservation and having access to digital forensic analysis resources for free.
To provide a more comprehensive support system to victims, here are the objectives Bits4Help is embarking on:

1
Digital Devices Serve as Crucial Evidence
2
Pervasive Nature of Surveillance Technology
3
Importance
of Data Preservation and Analysis
Digital devices have become an integral part of our lives. They store vast amounts of information behind the scenes that a user may not be aware of. Such information ranges from location information, application use, deleted communication, malicious applications, etc. From smartphones and laptops to wearable tech and home security systems, these devices often contain crucial evidence to help identify perpetrators and their unwanted surveillance activity and timelines.
Modern surveillance technology is more accessible and pervasive than ever before. The ease of obtaining hidden cameras, GPS tracking devices, and spyware poses a significant threat to personal privacy and safety. Perpetrators can use these tools to stalk, intimidate, or harm their victims. Through this initiative, victim advocate groups and victims gain insights if a device has been compromised for purpose of surveillance. Ongoing research will provide better understanding of the evolving landscape of surveillance technology and how to provide victims with guidance on how to protect themselves against digital intrusion.
Preserving and analyzing digital evidence is paramount if the perpetrator uses digital means to engage with a victim. Victims often inadvertently delete or overwrite critical information on their devices in the attempt to regain control. This jeopardizes efforts to preserve digital evidence and may result in a false sense of security. Timely actions to secure a device from future infection or exploitation, documenting suspicious activities, and seeking legal advice can make the difference in building a baseline.
WHY WE
DO IT.
Our goal is to enable other initiatives to explore these topics further with us, collaborate with experts in the field, and continue to empower and protect those affected by digital victimization.
